Q and A with Hiroshi Yasukawa
Tuesday, November 7th, 2006At the end of a Formula One season where Bridgestone took victory in nine events with the Scuderia Ferrari team and the team went on to finish a close second in the constructors championship while their seven time champion, Michael Schumacher, finished second in the drivers’ and constructors’ championships, the Director of Bridgestone Motorsport, Hiroshi Yasukawa, took the time to speak to their official website where he reflected on the past, the present and the future, where the Japanese company will become the sole tyre supplier to the pinnacle of Motorsports.
Your thoughts on the 2006 season?
We expanded from three to five teams in 2006, which gave us a very strong impact, especially with Toyota Racing and WilliamsF1. Of course it was disappointing not to win the World Championship, but all of our teams worked together very well, which allowed us to take a big technological step forward.
