Kimi and Felipe are our drivers, now and in the future for Ferrari

kimi, kimi raikkonen, felipe, felipe massa, ferrariSpeculation has been doing the rounds recently in regard to the security of Kimi Raikkonen’s drive at the Scuderia, the young Finn not living up to the Maranello based squad’s expectations this season as he trails his teammate, Felipe Massa, in the drivers’ standings.

Kimi may have gotten off to a strong start, winning his debut race for the team at Albert Park in March, however since then he has been plagued by bad luck that sees him in fourth place, seven points shy of Massa and twenty six behind current points leader, the man who replaced him at McLaren, Lewis Hamilton.

Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo rules out Prime Minister bid

Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo has rejected media reports that said he was about to embark on a career in Italian politics.

The rumours were sparked late last week when the 59-year-old gave a speech - critical of the country’s political incumbency - that was interpreted as a precursor to a career switch.

Montezemolo said he wanted to see lower taxes and a more flexible market in Italy, with even Prime Minister Romano Prodi confessing that the speech ’spoke for itself’.

Felipe Massa: “A good step forward” after Bahrain Grand Prix

Bahrain Grand Prix winner, Felipe Massa heads into this weekend’s Spanish grand Prix full of confidence and aiming to securing his second victory of the season. The Brazilian took part in last week’s testing session at the Spanish track and is very pleased with the improvements made to the F2007.

“For me, it was a successful test as we have definitely made some improvements to the car, which was always planned for this first session after the opening three races outside Europe,” he said on the team’s official website. “The team has worked very hard and the reward is a good step forward, especially on the aerodynamic side. The actual results and lap times were good, but you have to remember that in testing it is quite difficult to get a really one hundred percent understanding of what the other teams have achieved. The most important thing is that we have made a step forward and this weekend we will see how it compares to our rivals.”
