Spanish GP: Michelin happy with Spanish win
Friday, March 30th, 2007
Michelin riders ruled the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez, monopolising the podium with Valentino Rossi on the top step flanked by Dani Pedrosa and Colin Edwards in front of around 132,000 fans. While this was Rossi’s first win in six races, it was also the first victory for Michelin’s new 16 in front slick, which is now used by all of their MotoGP riders.
“This victory and these 25 points are important,” said Rossi. “We worked very well with Michelin here and the tyres worked well all the way to the end of the race. It was a fast race and a great battle with Dani. I pushed hard from the beginning and built a small advantage lap by lap.”
