Montoya to test at Homestead

Chip Ganassi Racing has announced that they plan to have Juan Pablo Montoya test one of the team’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Dodge Chargers at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) on Oct. 17-18. The HMS test is the final session of the NASCAR-determined testing schedule for 2006.

“I’m excited to get some more laps in the NEXTEL Cup car,” said Montoya. “All of my testing so far has been extremely beneficial, but obviously this will be one of the most important as we prepare to compete full time in the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge in 2007. This will be my first test with all my teammates present and I look forward to their assistance and feedback.”

McLaren, Honda, to land new sponsors

A trio of important sponsors appear destined for next year’s Formula One grid.

With Renault’s ‘ING’ title sponsorship to be unveiled in the coming weeks, it is understood that McLaren and Honda are also likely to snare significant deals.

2007 will be a lot better for Red Bull

After a pleasing first season with the Red Bull Racing team, David Coulthard has had a much harder time in the 2006 season, for example the Scot found himself out qualified by one of the Toro Rosso’s in the recent Japanese Grand Prix, and it was simply because he couldn’t find the grip or pace required on the Japanese track to out perform the V10 Cosworth powered former Minardi.
