Alex Yoong receives Bruce McLaren award

alex yoong, bruce mclaren award, grand prix, a1 team malaysia, alex yoong a1 teamA1 Team Malaysia driver, Alex Yoong, was the 2006 winner of the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) Bruce McLaren Trophy and on Saturday Martin Brundle, Vice Chairman, BRDC, and motorsport commentator, presented the award to him during the A1GP event at Brands Hatch in Kent.

This accolade is awarded each year to the best commonwealth driver competing in international motor racing. It was Yoong’s strong performance in the first season of the A1GP series that was recognised by the BRDC, and the awarding of this prestigious trophy.

Michael Schumacher to star in France

michael schmacherFor the third year running the Federation Française du Sport Automobile and the Institute for Cerebral and Medullar Disorders (ICM) are joining forces at the French Grand Prix to provide an exceptional event.

On this occasion, Michael Schumacher, the recently retired 7 time F1 World Champion, will spend the weekend at the Magny-Cours circuit. He will be back on a track on which he has written some of the outstanding pages of his career.

Holiday time almost over for Felipe Massa

felipe massaFerrari driver Felipe Massa, who celebrated his twenty sixth birthday with a small party yesterday, has been spending some rare time with his family back home in Brazil after winning the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Sao Paulo native making the most of the unusual four week lull in this year’s F1 calendar.
