webber, mark webberDespite finishing the 2007 Formula One championship season nine points behind the team he left due to poor performances in 2006, Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has no regrets about leaving Williams to join the Milton Keynes based squad stating that it is the team he has raced for, even though he has nothing against his former employers…

“It was great driving for Frank and Patrick,” he said in Autosport. “I would have liked that to be a more fruitful relationship in terms of results, but of course so have they. It was a very hard time at Williams, they were going through a difficult patch.”

Lewis Hamilton awarded gold star

Over 400 people gathered in The Savoy’s Lancaster Ballroom for an awards ceremony that returned to the capital for the first time in seven years to celebrate the motor racing achievements of 2007.

Formula 1 sensation, Lewis Hamilton, was present to collect not one, but four awards - including his first BRDC Gold Star, presented to him by ten-time BRDC Gold Star winner, Sir Stirling Moss OBE. Lewis also accepted The Colin Chapman Trophy, on behalf of his Vodafone-McLaren-Mercedes team-boss Ron Dennis, who was unable to attend in person.
